The Road to Woods Bay
Woods Bay is more than a name - it’s a thread that connects my beginnings to where I am now.
My journey started on Big Swamp Road in Pamplico, South Carolina - just a few early years, but long enough for the memories of family land and the quiet duck pond nestled in the woods across the street to leave a mark. That road, with its twists and turns, eventually meets Bay Road, and at the first intersection, Bay Road meets Woods Road - names that seemed ordinary then, but now feel almost poetic.
The embroidered duck on this shirt is intentionally simple - a calm reminder of my start, and a symbol of the growth and new chapters unfolding here in my new home. Years later, after settling in Olanta, I realized Woods Bay State Park was right down the road. That’s when the name “Woods Bay” struck me, tying together my beginnings and where I am now in a way only God could orchestrate.
Ducks have always represented community, nurturing, and the courage to embrace change. For me, the mallard is a gentle sign to trust the journey, knowing that God weaves every place and season together with purpose. It’s a tribute to quiet beginnings on Big Swamp Road, the gentle presence of the duck pond, and the belief that growth starts small. While the Woods Bay Classic design isn’t the detailed mallard I once envisioned, it’s a symbol of where I am now and the promise of what’s yet to blossom.
Launching Woods Bay as Setture’s first product is my way of honoring where I’ve been and celebrating where I am - rooted in South Carolina, stitched with intention, and open to what’s next.
